Terms of Service

1. Who we are

My Beer Shelf is a product of Nisshagen Advisory AB (Org.nr 559526-6742), a company registered in Stockholm, Sweden. “We”, “us” and “our” refer to Nisshagen Advisory AB. Questions about these terms: hello@mybeershelf.com.

2. What this site is

The site has four parts. A catalogue of 4,858 beers from 802 breweries in 52 countries, with the facts we show for each: name, brewery, style, strength, size and country. A set of styles pages describing twenty-eight beer styles and whether each one belongs in the fridge or the cellar. A gear page of accessories, glasses to cellar kit, with the affiliate links section 6 describes. And your shelf, a page that shows the beers and tastings recorded against your account in the My Beer Shelf app.

The app is in TestFlight and has not reached the App Store. Nothing on this site is an offer, a commitment to release anything, or a guarantee of any feature, date or price. Descriptions of intended functionality may change or be abandoned.

3. Age requirement

This site concerns beer and is intended for adults who are of legal drinking age in their country of residence. By using the site, you confirm that you meet that requirement. We do not sell alcohol, and nothing here is an inducement to drink: the site is about keeping a record of a collection, not about consuming it.

4. Your account and your content

Signing in is optional. Only the shelf page needs an account, and the rest of the site is open to anyone.

The account is the ShelfHub account, shared across the “my X shelf” apps, so one login works for all of them. Your beer records are not shared with those apps; only the login is common. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for what is done through your account.

The beers, tastings, scores, photographs and notes recorded against your account are yours. We claim no ownership of them. We store and process them only to provide the service, as set out in the Privacy Policy. We do not publish them, and they are not visible to other users.

This site reads that record and does not change it. Everything that writes to your shelf happens in the app.

You may have your account and its records deleted at any time by writing to hello@mybeershelf.com. Deletion is permanent. The deletion page explains the procedure, how deletion works when the login is shared with another app, and what the Delete account button in the account panel does today.

5. The catalogue and where it comes from

The catalogue is Systembolaget’s beer range: product facts about what a Swedish state off-licence stocks. Systembolaget’s public API portal no longer resolves, so the rows were collected through a community mirror rather than from Systembolaget directly, and they are held in our own database. We show the identifying facts and leave Systembolaget’s own tasting prose and food-pairing text out of the query entirely. Since 1 September 2026 the catalogue shows no price.

It is provided as-is and may be incomplete, out of date or wrong. A row here is a copy taken at import time rather than a live record. The range is Systembolaget’s, so it leans Swedish and a brewery near you may not be in it at all. Check anything that matters against the can in your hand.

The styles pages are our own writing. They restate facts about beer styles in our own words and are general description rather than a standard anyone should be measured against.

My Beer Shelf is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or connected to Systembolaget, or to any brewery or brand named in the catalogue. Names and trade marks belong to their owners and are used here for identification.

6. Affiliate links, and what is still not for sale

We sell nothing on this site. There is no basket, no checkout and no shop integration. No beer can be bought from a page here, no beer page links to a shop, and the catalogue shows no price.

The site does carry affiliate links to Amazon.se, on the gear page and next to the glass suggestions on the styles pages. They point at accessories: glasses, growlers, cellar kit and cleaning gear. None of them lead to beer or to any other alcohol. If you buy something through one of these links, Amazon pays us a commission. The price you pay does not change. Every such link is marked Annons.

Anything you buy through such a link is sold by Amazon or its sellers, not by us, and we make no warranty about it. Version 2.0 of these terms said there was no affiliate arrangement and promised that a change would be written here before anything on the site changed. This section is that writing, published before the first link rendered.

7. What you may not do

• Use the site for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its hosting, its database or another user’s account
• Use automated tools to scrape, bulk-extract, overload or probe the site or the catalogue
• Resell, redistribute or commercially exploit the catalogue or any other part of the site
• Copy or reproduce the design, code, text or branding without written permission

8. Intellectual property

My Beer Shelf, including this site and its design, code, copy, editorial text and branding, is owned by Nisshagen Advisory AB. You may not reproduce, distribute or create derivative works from it without written permission. This does not affect your ownership of what you record on your own shelf.

9. Availability and changes

We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the site. Where it is practical, we will give reasonable notice of a change that materially reduces what the site does. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. The catalogue pages are cached and can be up to a week behind the database, so a change to the underlying data is not visible here immediately.

10. Disclaimers

The site is provided “as is” and “as available”. We make no warranty that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any information on it, including catalogue data, the styles pages and the gear page, is accurate, complete or current. Any statement about a future feature is a statement of present intention only.

The styles pages describe how beers of a given style generally behave and whether they tend to reward keeping. They are general information rather than a warranty about any particular bottle. Beers, cellars and storage conditions differ, and the responsibility for what sits on your shelf is yours.

Nothing on this site is health, legal or financial advice. Alcohol carries health risks, and its sale and use are regulated differently in every country; complying with the law where you live is your responsibility.

Keep your own record of anything you would be upset to lose. We take reasonable care with your data and we do not guarantee against data loss.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by Swedish law, Nisshagen Advisory AB is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of this site, from any reliance on catalogue data, on what the shelf page shows, or on the styles or gear pages, from anything bought through an affiliate link, or from any statement about an unreleased app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, and nothing in them affects the mandatory rights of a consumer under Swedish law.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we do, we will publish the updated version here and update the version number and effective date at the top of this page. Continued use after that constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by Swedish law, and disputes will be resolved in Swedish courts. If you are a consumer resident in the EU, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory rules of your own country.
